Gainesville Bridal Expo this Sunday!!

It just occurred to me that while I've blabbered everywhere about the Bridal Expo this weekend, I haven't mentioned here. So, without further ado . . .

Gainesville's Bridal Expo will be held this Sunday, January 30th at the Gainesville Civic Center. It begins at 1:00 and ends at 4:00 with the Fashion Show starting at 3:45 p.m.

This year's Expo will feature a "Be Inspired" Theme with a room specifically dedicated to beautiful tablescapes, cakes, decor, catering and bridal fashion.

Wonderful Events and Celebrations has partnered with Soirees Southern Events, JB Jams and the Civic Center staff to create a unique and fabulous show!

Admission is $3 at the door.

E and I will do a special promotional segment on WDUN 550 tomorrow (Friday) at 3:10 p.m. Pass the word and come by and see us Sunday afternoon!

Brides Against Breast Cancer Event

Well, this weekend has been a whirlwind of wonderful things! But we'll begin with yesterday. Wonderful Events and Celebrations was honored to be a co-sponsor with Soirees Southern Events to host the Brides Against Breast Cancer Charity Event held at the Chattahoochee Country Club. Oh the beauty - the food, the flowers, the gowns, the tablescapes and of course, the brides!
But to me, the most beautiful of all was this girl!

Outside on the Patio Pavilion tablescapes were set up, along with the Silent Auction items. This is one of our tables - Breakfast at Tiffany's inspired.

This is our second tablescape - environmentally friendly and green!

Mary Stanford and our friends at Southern Florals did the flowers for our tables as well as the tables in the Ballroom. Isn't this amazing??

The Silent Auction items were fabulous - gowns, vacations, wine and check out the shoes! Ann Roth donated a pair of her fabulous shoes and let me tell you, it was quite a bidding war for those shoes! I wish I had taken a better picture of them because oh my word, they were awesome.

Friends, if you aren't familiar with Brides Against Breast Cancer and the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation, please go their website and read for yourself what this fabulous organization does for women suffering from this horrible disease.
Every January the Nationwide Tour of Gowns makes it to Atlanta. The proceeds from the gown sale go directly to the Foundation to help make dreams come true for terminally ill patients. Half of the gowns are brand new, donated by designers and bridal shops, while the other half are donated by individuals. What a great idea. I want to go. But apparently you have to be a bride looking for a wedding dress. I just hate that.
Have a good Monday!

Sharing some Pics of the Brasstown Show!

Just wanted to share a few pictures of the Brasstown Valley Resort Bridal Show yesterday. We had a great time and enjoyed meeting some really nice people! Our Eco-Green Design Gallery turned out quite nice. Many thanks to Mary and her amazing floral work and to E and her incredible attention to details. You two are amazing!

This tall vase was filled with orchids - stunning! Tea lights are hanging from the stems.

Artichokes worked great as place card holders. And moss under the chargers at each place setting really made them pop!

The bridal bouquet was gorgeous!

We were fortunate to work with these amazing vendors.

These brown chiavari chairs were absolutely incredible. Love them.

We created this display on this side table to showcase several additional elements of the gallery. The escort cards were slid into grass and surrounded by rocks. And speaking of rocks, the "guest book" to complement this eco-friendly theme was really cool. Guests could write their names and best wishes on the rocks and then add them to the tall vase. A "donation" was made in honor of the guests to the Bride and Groom's favorite charity.

It's Friday and the Brasstown Bridal Show is Sunday!

Well, Friday is upon us! First thing this morning I was off to get a fresh revelation from the book of Revelation with some girlfriends from church. Now, I have to admit, I know very little about the book of Revelation and frankly, it intimidates me. I’m hoping to get over that very soon. We had a good start.

After that, E and I met up to do yet more preparations for this weekend’s Bridal Show at Brasstown Valley Resort. Honestly, we’ve done Bridal Shows long enough now that we’ve got that part down to a fine science. We know what to take and how to arrange it. However, this show is a tad more complicated for us. In addition to our traditional booth, we are presenting a Design Gallery and couldn’t be more thrilled! We absolutely love this kind of thing!

This is just a glimpse of our work space today in our home office. A typical work day for Wonderful Events: a diet Coke from Panera Bread, lots of papers, two red laptops, two iphones, and . . . an artichoke and some pears? Explanation to follow.

Here’s the deal: This Bridal Show will showcase four wedding vignettes each with a different theme: Blues Gallery; Sherbet Gallery; Vineyard Gallery and our personal choice, the Eco-Green Design Gallery. Each of these will include bridesmaids dresses, wedding cakes, and (this is where we come in) tabletop display complete with centerpiece, individual place settings, sample invitation, menu cards and place cards and favors. In this gallery, we will obviously be using lots of natural, repurposed, and environmentally friendly items – like branches, potted orchids, grasses, moss, artichokes, pears, rocks, and recycled papers for the invitations, place cards, escort cards, and menu cards, in addition to some other neat stuff. We will also display a bridal bouquet and super cool guest book idea.

So if you are thinking about a Sunday drive (it’s supposed to be sunny) head on up to the mountains to Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris. We’d love to see you!
